Looks like a Pine Siskin? That is what I thought at first Bert, but the bill is wrong for a siskin.. The siskin bill is much sharper.... I am pretty sure a Purple Finch now.... Cheers... Neal

I agree with birderbert, sure looks like a pine siskin with all those yellow feathers, something you don't see on a purple finch. Bill looking odd may be the angle it was taken.

Looks fine for Purple Finch to me. Compare: macaulaylibrary.org/asset/225216451Head pattern is good, bill isn't thin as expected on Pine Siskin, and like the ML image shows, some color on the bird is fine.

I agree that it's a purple finch--they often have a greenish plumage. I don't usually see then this bright.
