On the drive back yesterday, along Chilliwack Central Rd, between Banford and Prest Rd, there was a bird in the distance that Dave and I could not ID. It was in the middle of a field, far away. I took some pictures and cropped them closer to help with id but still not sure.

I know that a Pectoral Sandpiper has been seen in the valley, but I wonder if this might be an Upland Sandpiper, or whatever. The longer neck of the Upland seems to fit this bird better. It was quite a distance from the road, and did not seem interested in the traffic from the freeway or Chilliwack Central. It stood stationary for a while as we looked at it and I took pictures, turned sideways to give a nice profile for a while, then turned away as if it had enough of me trying to id it. Still stumped and still learning. Klaus
