009 by henry wall, on Flickr DSCN1042 by henry wall, on Flickr Now check out these 2 Hummingbirds mainly their necks and the length of them . The Anna`s doesn`t have much of neck compared to the top one. 2 The wingtips on the Anna`s come to the end of their tail feathers whereas in the top one they are a long way from the it`s tail feathers. So the can`t both be Anna`s., 3 Look at the size difference between the two not the same.

The top bird of preening, hence it looks like its neck is longer. The size difference is a difficult feature to measure, but also both pictures show the birds in very different postures which may lead to further confusion. IMO All birds pictured are Anna's (except maybe the top one which is too dark for me to tell)

So Randy do you still think these 3 Hummingbirds are the same bird given the size differences and the difference in the size of the bill. Again all 3 photos taken on North Paralle Rd.

The last picture is a male Rufous Hummingbird. It's easier to tell because the iridescent throat feathers are orangy-red instead of pink If the very first picture is the same bird, that one is also of a rufous
