It was a very birdy day given I was not focused on birding. Maybe that’s the trick! Cheam Lake in the morning I heard a raven fussing and soaring up quite high I could see it hassling a large raptor that made me go get my binoculars. Yup, Golden Eagle. A adult. Nick was still there and he managed to get a photo. At Eagle Point Park off Morris Valley Road just past the Sandpiper Golf Course we saw five adult American White Pelicans fly in and land. They were still there when we left. Best view is out from the viewing platform. They were moving further away so a scope might be nice. Earlier a Dusky Flycatcher was near the platform and a few arrival Purple Martins were overhead. They seem to come earlier every year. The public entrance to the park is straight off Morris Valley at the mail boxes and is a less than 10 minute walk down. Cheam lake this afternoon had three Cinnamon Teal and another Dusky Flycatcher at the parking lot.
