I believe that someone already reported Mountain Bluebirds in Columbia Valley. My neighbour, an avid hiker and walker, spotted two male Mountain Bluebirds near Bustin Road in Rosedale a few days ago. They would be a nice bird to see in our back yard but now luck so far. But I did see a Townsend's Solitaire on my walk this morning.

It was a good day for flyovers in Sardis. I had two flocks of each:
Red crossbill
Band-tailed pigeon (already on the list this month)

Ran into Gord at Cheam Lake Wetlands Park and he spotted a Golden Eagle being harried by crows. I posted a very poor quality image on Ebird of it.

Vaux's Swift (We saw our first of the season at the Blue Heron Reserve)
Cassin's Vireo (Island 22)
Western Meadowlark (Hope Airport)
American Goldfinch (Several locations)
Virginia Rail (Cheam Lake)
130 species. Still a bit light but a good chance we can get a few more before the month is out.

I heard my first of the year Bullock's Oriole at the Matsqui Trail Park, Gladwin entrance, just down the trail from the parking lot. Quite chatty, but not showing itself much.

Solitary Sandpiper at Gladwin pond. I also had a Western Sandpiper with least Sandpipers in Sumas Prairie.
