It's pretty thin at this point in the month, which is pretty understandable considering the weather we've had. Here's a list of pretty dependable February birds that we're still looking for (and spots to search for each): Gadwall (GBHR, Willband) Northern shoveler (Sardis Park) Greater scaup (GBHR) Barrow's goldeneye (GBHR) Ruddy duck (Mill Lake) Sooty grouse (Elk Mountain) Ruffed grouse Common loon (Fraser River, Harrison Lake) Merlin (How have we missed this one?) Wilson's snipe Ring-billed gull Mew gull Herring gull Iceland gull Barred owl Great-horned owl Canada jay (Chilliwack Lake) Western meadowlark (Sumas Prairie) Purple finch (Another big miss so far)

There was a Marsh Wren singing at Wilband Feb 26. A Canvasback was to the left (west) of the viewing platform.

Can add Barred, Great Horned Owls and Northern Pygmy Owl to the list as they have been present in the Ryder Lake area over the passed month.

Great late push, everyone! The recent additions bring us to 106 species, which is pretty much in line with what we've seen in the last few years.
