Great Backyard Bird Count occurs this month and runs from February 12-15. The first potential signs of migration occurs in February. Gulls, such as Mew, California and Ring-billed will be moving through the area towards the end of the month. The Great Blue Heron Reserve offers great opportunities to see waterfowl, songbirds and many other species. A drive through Sumas Prairie can be very rewarding especially with raptors such as a Golden Eagle.
