This past Sunday, I went with Ed, John Vooys, and Larry to look for the recently-reported Yellow-billed loon at Elgin Park. After about 40 minutes of scanning the Nicomekl River, we were just about to leave when Ed spotted what we were looking for . This was a lifer for Larry and I. The rain let up just long enough for me to get some shots: Yellow-billed loon by Joel Schmidt, on Flickr Afterwards, we went over to Blackie Spit. We were able to find the Western sandpipers and Snow buntings that people had been seeing here. Good sightings Joel and congrats on the lifer. Love birding those areas, especially in the winter.
