November 2020 Monthly Challenge

While almost all of the species have migrated through, November can still tally a relatively high number of species. November offers a great opportunity to see thousands of Bald Eagles and other birds, mostly waterfowl, at the Chehalis Estuary. November is also a great month to explore Tuyttens Wetlands for waterfowl, sparrows and many other different bird species.

Thanks for pointing this out. I think this is a Gord thing and may have to do with the migration from the previous host? I simply copied the text string from the previous year. Gord would you mind looking into this?

Wrong spot for the monthly challenge.

From what I understand, Gord didn't renew the domain (fraservalleybirding) and it was purchased by someone else. The links will have to all be updated to point to the new site. There is no easy way to redirect them.

Lots of waterfowl at Willband this morning birds of note were 5 Canvasback, 2 Ruddy Ducks and a 3 Northern Pintail.

On Nov. 7 there was an eclipse male Redhead in Cheam Slough in Agassiz. It was in a mixed flock of diver and dabbler ducks.

We've had a White-throated Sparrow in the yard the last few days. Just now it's in our water feature having a drink.

(both hawks chasing our swarms of Pine Siskins and other small birds)
Merlin (I heard the call of the Merlin, but could not see it clearly to identify)
Northern Pygmy Owl visited our birdbath a few days ago
Ravens
Purple Finches.
