Late this morning I looked up just in time to see an unmistakable Swainson's Hawk cruise over. I was talking with some non birders at the time so I didn't let on anything. Seconds later I glanced over and noticed a birder looking over the river who turned out to be Ed. I blew my cover and called over to him hoping he could still catch it but it was too late. Definitely a game of seconds this birding thing! This was at Island 22 and once again in the dog park. During the morning and early afternoon that I was there I noticed several Red-tails, a Harrier and Turkey Vultures going over as well. Might have been a good day to go up a bit higher for some raptor watching.

Sounds like you're having a great fall at Island 22. Wish I could stop in.
