Hello everyone,
I'd love to hear about good spots to go see birds in the Chilliwack area. Ideally places that don't get much human traffic.
I've spent a bit of time at the heron reserve, and will go there again. But I'd love to know about other spots as well Thanks in advance for any and all information.

I like Sardis Park because it's fairly close to my house. Cheam Lake Wetlands is good.

The website Gord put together lists some (most?) sites in the area fvbirding.com/Site%20Guide/Chilliwack%20Region.htmCheam Lake is quiet in the mornings person wise, but can be quite nice for birds. Most places, if you go on a weekday, and fairly early, you miss most people. The 4 best ones in my opinion are Island 22 - migrating songbirds, nice habitat but mosquitoes can be bad Harrison - shorebirds and ducks at the right times Cheam Lake - good for songbirds and decent for ducks Heron Reserve - only opens at 9

Thanks for that. I'll make sure to check those out in the coming weeks. I've found most of my interesting sightings at the Heron Reserve were along the dike on the outside of it

There's lots of great opportunities along those dykes. One doesnt have to walk too far to get away from the busier parts that are nearer to the parking lots and so forth.
Columbia Valley is a favourite of mine. Usually very quiet and I enjoy walking the roads.
