Due to weather concerns, the event was planned to happen on the 28th. So, there are currently three seats for those interested. So far, weather looks promising!

Hi Gord,
I just got back from a trip and saw that another trip is being planned up Cheam. I am wondering if you have seats for two more?

Hey Gord, just had a discussion with my friend Helen,
What we need to know is:
How long would the hike typically be? Would you foresee any obstacles for Helen's 13 week or so Husky-Malamute cross puppy who typically accompanies us on our hikes? (We'll have a rather big backpack to carry her in when she's tired). Helen needs to be back (in Aldergrove I think) by 5ish...will that timeline work out..I warn you all we're slow hikers due to being constantly distracted..

Daniel
No sweat on slow hiking at all! We keep a steady but reasonable pace and the birds somewhat dictate where we stop!! Last week, we did not get back to Chilliwack until 5. I cannot promise we would be able to get back sooner. Dogs are permitted on the trail with a leash, so no problems from that standpoint. For birding however, I would be concerned about what the birds would think, especially the grouse and ptarmigan. I expect we will see families with chicks, should we be lucky to find any! A usually laid back species may get quite unhappy if they view a dog; even one owned by responsible persons and could limit viewing opportunities. Id love to see the dog in the backpack! That breed is my favourite as well and I picture one in the family in the future.
Brent, Ill put you two down. Im still on the lookout for another vehicle so the waitlist is a good place!

So Gord if we leash Na'nook and trail behind you guys when there are birds in the vicinity (which may be permanently)...I have a feeling not..plus half the reason I am up there is to see the birds so I wouldn't like that too much. What do you think, I'm sure I'll get lots of chance to do Cheam in the future so we can always do Radium as originally planned, or maybe leave Na'nook home. What do you think? (I imagine it's kind of like having kids.... ) Daniel

Thanks, Brent

Daniel, welcome to my world with kids! Hehe they're a joy but make some things a challenge. It's up to you on what you want to do with Na'nook (Id love to meet her!) or if you want to do a shorter day. I think it's pretty safe to say we wont be back to our vehicles until close to 5 making being in Aldergrove by 5 tough!
Brent, Ill adjust the list. I think there's a good chance Ill have another opening. The tallest of who's riding in my truck will get the front seat, the rest will have to sit tight in the back.
Weather should be ok. I hear rumours of a bit of cloud late on Saturday. Probably wont amount to anything...

The list has been updated leaving 4 spaces.
Latest forecast calls for sun and clouds which was an improvement from rain showers earlier in the week. Let's hope the trend continues towards decent weather!
