The Nature Conservancy of Canada is compiling a list of Endemic species of plants and animals for Canada. I looked at their site to see which birds were endemic to BC. Here is the list I gathered from the information on their website. storymaps.arcgis.com/stories/23b1ba2f0e2e46ce9a8c27412f414fc1Northern Saw-whet Owl brooksi subspecies (Aegolius acadicus brooksi) Pacific Steller's Jay (Cyanocitta stelleri carlottae) Queen Charlotte Hairy Woodpecker (Dryobates villosus picoideus) Northern Pygmy-Owl swarthi subspecies (Glaucidium gnoma swarthi) Vancouver Island White-tailed Ptarmigan (Lagopus leucura saxatilis) Queen Charlotte Pine Grosbeak (Pinicola enucleator carlottae) I am sure we saw a Steller's Jay in Haines, Alaska a year ago. It did not sound like our Steller's Jays here in the Fraser Valley, but it sure looked like one.
