Hi all: I'm glad I don't consider myself a photographer. Nevertheless, I will post a few pictures that I took yesterday, when Murray Brown, and I headed up to Manning Park for part of the day. Regrettably, neither of us got a useable picture of the Boreal Chickadees we saw. A backlit shot of a male Red Crossbill. Can you spot the lone White Winged, amongst all the Reddies? A female Red Crossbill doing a breakdance for the gang!! Cheers, Thor Thor Manson Hope, B.C.

Nice pictures, Thor! I love the breakdance shot!! It almost looks like two White-winged Crossbills in the top picture, or is that white marking on a Pine Siskin or reflection off a beak?

Hi Dave: There were Pine Siskins in that mixed flock, and I see one in that photo. Murray and I looked at this flock for quite awhile, as we were hoping a male White winged would show up. Also the Boreal Chickadees were around here; ( Strawberry Flats pull off ). In the time we were there, we only saw one White winged Crossbill. Cheers, Thor

Great work on capturing those crossbills, it's pretty hard to get that many birds together in focus and you did it. We love the one on the pine tree.
