May got off to a great start on Friday, May 1! Still off work of course so managed just over an hour before parenting responsibilities kicked in. 37 species at my place was a pleasant surprise. I had a good number of warblers. I was hearing some YR, OC, and Wilson's and scanning the groups of these and RC kinglets and hoping for a Townsend's. I managed to find one in the mix then enjoyed its buzzy call for some time! Here is one of the multiple yellow-rumped warblers around. Sadly most were deep in bigleaf maple cover: Here is one of the Wilson's warblers: For some reason I really enjoy seeing swifts. Vaux's swifts showed up at my place April 28 and have been seen regularly since. Hoping to get a better photo at some point but I will take what I can get for now!

Thank you for sharing your images, those are very nice images of warblers. I have yet to see or even hear any Wilson's or Townsend's I guess I need to put in more time. I have not seen a Swift in Abbotsford for a couple years, I guess I need to work on that too.

I have not seen a Swift in Abbotsford for a couple years, I guess I need to work on that too. Thanks guys! Nick if you're looking for swifts Willband seems to be a very reliable location, especially around the parking lot and just south of it. I was there the other day with my daughter and there were at least 8 or so flying over and around the parking lot and the field on the south edge of the parking lot.
