Lots of activity at the feeders today, and it sure was a treat to have some sun shining on the birds to show off their colours. Dozens of Red-winged Blackbirds (mostly male, but also a few females) and American Goldfinches, some Starlings, Black-capped Chickadees, four Golden-crowned Sparrows, a Fox Sparrow, a couple of Song Sparrows, one lone Pine Siskin, Downy Woodpeckers, House Finches, an Evening Grosbeak (boy he sure ate a lot...and kept chasing the blackbirds away from 'his' feeder!), one Chestnut-backed Chickadee, and the return of the White-throated Sparrow. now if only I could add a Varied Thrush and Nuthatches to that list...they never come to my yard. sigh. Here are a few photos to brighten your day.

Wow!, nice colour Terri! The chestnut-backed chickadee and Evening Grosbeak's colours sure are vivid! And then to get the White-throated Sparrow back in the yard, sure sounds like you had a great 'yard' day. Thanks for sharing, Dave

Great shots Terri. I have to say that appears to be one popular perch! -are they actually on the same section of branch with the grosbeak being a little lower? Thanks for sharing.
