Has anyone tried Martha Sargent's suet recipe? (She's an avid Alabama birder) The recipe can be found in Dr. Scott Shalaway's article: Wildlife: Woodpeckers LOVE Suetwww.post-gazette.com/pg/05338/616968.stm

Hi- Peanut Flavour Suet is a favourite here. Right now I'm using Pine Tree Farms 'Birdwatcher's Best' Nutty Butter Suet (popular with our flickers, downy & hairy woodpeckers) although I would be tempted to buy their Cashew Suet cake which was on the Pine Tree link above. Cashews are by far their favourite nut as they are soft, oily, easy to break up and probably taste great.
