A new member here. After seeing the photo of a Yellow Shafted Flicker that was posted this morning ,I was prompted to report that I too had one at my feeder - in S. Langley at about 4:30 this afternoon. He had the black malars, red crescent on the back of his head and yellow underwings. I did get a few photos through my window and will try to read over how to post one. I often have the Red Shafted and I've occasionally had a Red Shafted with a faint red crescent on the back of his head. This however, is the first time I have seen a Yellow Shafted in my back yard!

May I offer a welcome, added to our Administrator of the board -Gord's! The directions are very good, however, you no longer have to highlight the "whole" url, just clik on it, and it will then give a yellow "prompt"--"copied" which, when you come "back" to your post -put the flashing icon in the location where you want to post the photo, and hit paste, bingo--preview your post, modify, if needed and you have it--would like to see the post/pic to view differences/similarities (for my education)--Thanks in advance--Al ;D
