Even if you dont plan on doing a CBC count, you can count what you have at your feeder/yard and share it at the end of the day.
Tips for doing this is to count all the different species and the highest number of each species you saw at one time. For species where you can tell the difference between male and female, you can count the highest number of each you saw at one time and then add them together to get a number of that species (i.e. two male varied thrush, and one female = three varied thrushes at your feeders/yard).
All data is most valuable! Post it here and the count compiler will add it on.

Yes, this is an important aspect of the Abbotsford/Mission Christmas Bird Count also. Anyone in that region can post feeder count results as Gord describes.
One more thing... If you post your feeder count results, it's important to give your location also, at least approximate if you don't want to give your exact address.
All feeder count records are added to the regular count records, and these are broken down by area within the count circle. So the approximate location of the feeder count is important for assigning the count records to the correct area.
