A late posting. 
Was at my parents on Tuesday and checked on their feeders. I was surprised to see a total of 8 purple finches! All looked like females and juv. I dont think Ive ever seen that many at the feeders before.
Not all that surprising maybe as Ive been running into them all around. Maybe they had a good year? Anyone else noticed more purple finches this summer? Didnt seem to be more than usual in the spring.
