Yes - me again. Had a great morning at Cheam Wetlands on Sunday.... First time there. Although there were few waterfowl on the water, I did spot this duck and not sure what it is? I thought Shoveler at first from distance and now I just don't know...thanks. Attachments:

Hi Gabi,
i think this is a male Mallard in eclipse plumage. This time of year a lot of male ducks have a drabber plumage after the breeding season.

Agreed. After a period of hot sunny weather some of those feathers become sun-bleached as well. The new feathers will come in as normal in a few weeks.
