I had 2 Tree Swallows at Wilband today. Also a Redtail with a snake. The warm weather is bringing out signs of spring. Notice how the head is shredded but the snake is still grasping a branch.

Well done, Len! And good picture of the Red-tailed with the snake too.

Len, I was listening carefully today as I went about my day knowing the swallows would be along any day now. The weather was just perfect. Good find on them.
That's a great shot of the hawk with the snake. Poor snake but it will make a good meal.

Nice Len. I always thought Willband would be one of the better places to look for the first swallows. Bluebirds, Rufous Hummingbirds and Phoebes are only a few weeks away.
Meanwhile, I am still waiting for my first crow.

Are there good spots to look out for Phoebes and Bluebirds in the next month?

Hey Paul, Hope Airport is a good spot to look for Say's Phoebes and bluebirds. They're both seen almost annually there. I'm hoping to get my first Say's Phoebe this year!

I saw about a dozen tree swallows at Willband today - interesting to watch in the very strong wind blowing today... my first this year.

Are there good spots to look out for Phoebes and Bluebirds in the next month? Hey Paul, like Jamie said Hope Airport is a good spot for both. Harrison Lagoon is another good location for them. A few Mountain Bluebirds are arriving in the interior of BC. In another week or two it might be good to check Hope Airport.

I've still yet to see a swallow! I was at Island 22 for part of today too and while making a bit of a noise at times I figured I'd get one flying over at some point like I usually do each spring at this location.
