Is this a Hutton's Vireo? I finally think I may have found (and got a picture of) one. I am thinking vireo because of the bill shape and size, and the white stuff connecting the eye and bill. It also sat still enough for a picture, something most kinglets don't do. Well, what do you think? -Dave

I think it is a kinglet because of the wing stripe and the size. The bird looks about 3 to 4 inches compared to the size of the background leaves.

Hard to tell for sure, Dave, but what at least appears to be a prominent dark wing stripe bordering the light stripe points to kinglet. The bill seems a bit thicker than the average kinglet, but maybe not thick enough, and too tapered, for the vireo. I'd lean to Ruby-crown. They do sit still once in a while.
But it's always worth checking for Hutton's Vireo. I hardly ever see one but am always hoping.

My two pennies of opinion will buy you that I think it's a ruby-crowned too. Mind you, sounds like it was acting a bit abnormal considering you got a picture with no muvement blur! The black bar below the second wingbar is ruby-crowned as Stan mentioned. The bill did look a bit on the thick side though against the branch.
Nice picture!
