Saw this guy at Cheam Lake last week. It was the same size as all the geese there, but had more white on the head and its neck was a greyish instead of black. It's 'honk' was a bit off too, sort of a squeeky honk. Although hybrids are common among ducks and geese, I think this guy has lost pigment (leucism) and/or some partial albinism. Doesnt explain the funny honk, but then Ive heard species that look as they should but sound a bit off. We all must get colds!
