Hello Birders
The American Tree Sparrow was seen again this morning near the west end of the dyke at Island 22. It was around the area where the dyke construction ends; approx. 50m before the grey gate.

Jason, good work on relocating it! Thanks for the text too. I was happy to see it soon after you did in the same area. Our first spring record for American Tree Sparrow. I also had first of season Northern Rough-winged Swallows at Island 22. Lots of birdsong this sunny morning. Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Yellow-rumped Warbler, Brown Creeper and Purple Finch were the most vocal. At Cheam Lake Wetlands I also had another first of season bird by way of a Common Yellowthroat. There may have been a second but I could not confirm as it was off in the distance quite a ways. There were quite a few Rufous Hummingbirds buzzing around too; easily the most I've seen yet this spring in one place. Spring has certainly sprung!!
