I was coming back from Surrey today so I thought I would see if I could fined the Golden Eagles off Tolmie and Campbell road. Just after puling on to Vye Road I saw a juvenile Northern Goshawk in the top of a tree. Saw the Harlan's Hawk again on the corner of Campbell and Marion and 14 Western Meadowlark on Dixon road in a corn field with a flock of starlings. At around 4:30 I found an adult Golden Eagle in the top of the tree just where it was suppose to be. I'll post my list on the local birding page. It was a beautiful day. Denis

Hi Dennis, Nice shots. Love the warm light on the Golden Eagle, especially.
Do you mind being more specific about the location of the Goshawk. This would be a real rare bird for around here.
Thanks.

Denis, great sightings. Out of curiosity do you have any records of Goshawk in the Sumas Prairie area?

Wes, Chris Her are the records I have for the Sumas Prairie but there is usually one around every winter. Walter Rempel counts the area around the Vedder Cannel on the CBC mid December and usually gets one. The resent hawk was at Sumas Way just east on Vye Rd. ~300m down from Sumas Way. Denis

Great finds. I was on birdsearch.org and apparently someone on San Juan Island in Washington State spotted a goshawk there today as well.
