This early evening was up by Lindell Beach at Cultus and drove a few minutes further. Checked out Kosikar Road and a bit of Maple Falls Road. The highlight find was a Western Bluebird actively hunting along Kosikar Road near the north end. It is banded including colour bands so whomever is doing the study on them may be interested in knowing about it. Ill be asking around and will share what I hear. A beauty! Good fortune was abundant as just as I was leaving the first rain drops started to fall.

Great shots! What a beautiful bird! It will be interesting if we find out when and where he was banded.

Gary, such colour bands are used for study as it allows researchers to spot and identify individual birds without having to catch them to read a number on the silver band. A study about territory size would use such a method which will allow them to follow how far a certain bird will move from it's nest site.
I have actually not looked into the above bird as yet. Been a bit busy and forgot! Thanks for the nice comments everyone.
