Hello fellow birders. I had an unexpected Christmas lifer this morning. A Little Gull had been reported off Ambleside Park in West Vancouver, yesterday. A number of us were looking for it at first light today and by 9:30 Dan Tyson saw it fly into view in the presense of a flock of Bonaparte's Gulls. It was then seen accross the water near Sawish Rock below Stanley Park and by 10 am it was much closer as the flock settled on the water at the mouth of the Capilano River. It is an adult in wither plumage, so even at a distance if you see it flying you will notice the black underwings (unmistakeable!). Good birding everyone. John Vooys, Abbotsford

John, congrats! Nice little bird. It has been a good year for them (two or three sightings)
