We are very impressed with all the great sightings. As we have been preoccupied with other things, we haven't had a chance to post anything lately. We had two Swamp Sparrows at the GBHNR on the 14th of Nov. and the 22nd of Nov. and one on the 25th of Nov.. They seem to be hanging around but disappear and have popped up for a couple of seconds on these days.

Wow, that's awesome! Do you think that these are the same birds or different ones. Just by looking at the dates, I think there is a strong possibility of at least two individuals.

Yes, we think they might be the same birds but we can't be sure.

This morning on my way into Burnaby to write a final I heard on the radio that traffic was pretty bad on the other side of the new bridge. I figured I could go for a quick walk at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve and let the traffic quiet down instead of sitting in traffic.
A nice invigorating pre-test walk in the cool of the morning. Around the building were a bunch of finches, sparrows and Red-winged Blackbirds including a handful of Golden-crowned Sparrows and a Cooper's Hawk. I walked the new little trail and enjoyed an energetic flock of chickadees and both species of kinglets. Calling from the marshy bit was a Swamp Sparrow. No doubt one of the two seen by Bruce and Joanne. Nice that they're still hanging around.
A nice way to start the morning, and the drive through to school was pretty smooth by the time I hit the bridge which easily justified my walk. ;D
