A couple weeks ago there was a mountain chickadee hanging out with the chestnut-backed and black-capped chickadee group in my backyard. It seemed to not know how to use the feeders. I had a MC show up at least a couple years ago but it wasn't the same one because this one had a wide white eyebrow. Yesterday, a couple times, I heard the very distinct call of a Great Gray Owl. I'm very close to the area where the Snowy Owl was spotted near Landstrom Bar in Hope. This could explain the decline in my backyard squirrel population. Happy Birding.

Wendy, thanks for the update and keep us posted on the Great Grey Owl! Sounds like your chickadee visitor was a first time feeder bird.
