There is a Franklin's Gull in the large flock of gulls at the intersection of Prairie Central Road & Banford Rd. Also in the flock is a Western Gull. A Golden Eagle is active in the area making sorting through the birds more difficult.... All for now, Dave

Great sighting Dave!
I was just about to leave my house to get something to eat and I found out there was a Franklin's Gull haninging out at Banford Rd. I missed this bird a few times at Harrison so I wanted to see one.
I got there and Rick Toochin helped me and pointed out the bird. Made a dumb move and I did not bring my camera. There were actually two Franklin's Gulls. When we were watching the one which was close to the road, there was another one a decent ways out there. One had an injured leg. New BC species for me.
Nice field to observe gulls because you don't need a scope.

Here is a shot of the Golden Eagle creating some havoc with the gulls. Rick Toochin sent me this photo of the 2nd Franklin's Gull.

Dont want to be a kill joy, but I lean towards a young Bald Eagle there. The mottling on the neck looks promising, but the speckling on the rest of the body is more of a Bald Eagle thing.
Awesome Franklin's Gulls. We've had a good year for them.

One of the two...possibly a two and a half year old.
