Just sitting having my morning coffee and an Evening Grosbeak just flew into our feeders with a mixed flock of House Finches. Is it a bit late in the season for Grosbeaks?

Hi Ian, I'm in S. Langley and had one at my feeder on Sat. I have a previous notation of a small flock on Dec. 1st back in 2008. So I guess they are around this time of year. - Pat

These guys seem to be a little erratic, save for the summer months when they're tough to find. If any are to be found in the summer, it seems to be in the eastern part of our region. Late winter and spring seems to often be the best. Ive heard they like the Big Leaf Maple buds in the spring. Glad you guys are seeing them, although the seed budget probably does not. Now if only Randy could get one at his feeder!!
