I was going to do some work this morning but got bored very quickly, so once the rain stopped I drove to Trinity Western to check out the area. It was fairly quiet but a nice walk nonetheless. The lighting wasn't great for photography but I got a couple good pics. The highlight was a couple western tanagers. Here's my list: Wood Duck 2 Mallard 12 Great Blue Heron 1 Glaucous-winged Gull 1 Belted Kingfisher 2 Downy Woodpecker 1 Northern Flicker 2 Northwestern Crow 10 Common Raven 2 Black-capped Chickadee 15 Chestnut-backed Chickadee 5 Bushtit 6 Brown Creeper 1 American Robin 6 European Starling 8 Orange-crowned Warbler 1 Song Sparrow 6 Western Tanager 2 House Finch 6 Pictures: Brown Creeper: Downy Woodpecker: At my place not too much happening either. The canvasback is still on Brydon Lagoon. The yellowlegs and dowitchers that were on the marsh weren't there today - I'm guessing because it has filled significantly due to the recent rains. House finches are eating me out of house and home though: Randy - Langley

Thanks for the report Randy.
I love the shot of the Downy in the Dogwood (I'm 98% sure its a dogwood).

You're right Chris, it's a Red Osier Dogwood. And I agree, the Downy pics are great.
