I hope everyone is having a great long weekend. I ventured over to check out Blackie Spit for the first time. I saw the following: Canada Goose 15 Mallard 20 Green-winged Teal 6 Common Loon 1 Double-crested Cormorant 1 Great Blue Heron 40 Killdeer 8 Greater Yellowlegs 10 Glaucous-winged Gull 4 Caspian Tern 6 Rock Pigeon 2 Belted Kingfisher 1 Downy Woodpecker 1 Steller's Jay 1 Northwestern Crow 5 Barn Swallow 6 Black-capped Chickadee 20 European Starling 8 Cedar Waxwing 5 Black-throated Gray Warbler 1 Spotted Towhee 2 Song Sparrow 3 White-crowned Sparrow 1 House Finch 2 American Goldfinch 20 House Sparrow 3 I believe that I also saw a juvenile orange-crowned warbler, but can't be sure. I don't have a scope yet (it is on my list of things to buy), which would have made the excursion even more productive, but it was still a great outing. Here are a few pics: Randy - Langley
