Hey everyone, On a whim this morning I decided to go to Campbell Valley Regional Park in Langley. I went a bit late (10 or so) so the bird activity was not optimal and there was quite a bit of human activity. Nonetheless I managed to see a decent variety, with the Hammonds flycatcher being a lifer for me. If someone is able to identify the mystery sparrow in the tree for me that would be great - sparrows are definitely not my forte. Here's my list: Cooper's Hawk 3 Western Wood-Pewee 4 Hammond's Flycatcher 1 Red-eyed Vireo 1 Steller's Jay 3 Northwestern Crow 4 Barn Swallow 3 Black-capped Chickadee 30 Chestnut-backed Chickadee 5 Red-breasted Nuthatch 1 Brown Creeper 3 Bewick's Wren 1 American Robin 5 Cedar Waxwing 5 Yellow Warbler 1 Spotted Towhee 5 Song Sparrow 10 Dark-eyed Junco 10 Western Tanager 1 Black-headed Grosbeak 1 Purple Finch 2 American Goldfinch 4 [img src="[/img] "] I took a look at Brydon Lagoon and in addition to the numerous mallards and Canada geese, there was a lone canvasback. Otherwise, not too much variety here. Randy - Langley Attachments:

Quick question in addition. I tried to post multiple pictures but I can't seem to figure out how to incorporate them into the text, rather than being an attachment...

Randy, glad to hear you are exploring Campbell Valley. Congrats on the Hammond's Flycatcher lifer. The Canvasback is very good sighting for this time of year. If you are interested in posting more than one picture Gord has laid out how to do that here. bcbirding.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=photos&action=display&thread=1096Also, your sparrow is an juvenile White-crowned Sparrow.

That's an impressive list. We agree with Chris on the photo of the sparrow. Good work.

Randy, good work on posting the photos. They came out well. Love how you caught the chickadee in that 'protecting his sunflower seed' pose.
