Hi I don't know how many of you know this but there is a wetland immediately west of Mission with boardwalks and great bird habitat, I forgot to get the name of it today but it is on the north side of the highway and you take the first exit after you pass it as you go west. There is construction going on there right now. Today we found a Purple Finch and Says Phoebe there. The link will show you approximately where it is. maps.google.ca/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=sun+valley+trout+park+mission+bc&aq=&sll=49.138821,-122.351518&sspn=0.01547,0.038624&ie=UTF8&hq=sun+valley+trout+park&hnear=Mission,+Fraser+Valley+Regional+District,+British+Columbia&ll=49.142331,-122.349629&spn=0.014767,0.038624&z=15

It's called Silver Creek wetlands, and they are seriously fixing it up with habitat for fish, breeding ponds for threatened Red-legged Frogs, a hibernaculum for snakes, nest boxes for swallows and purple martins, etc. It's worth a visit.
Go west on Hwy 7 out of Mission, and turn right on Nelson Rd, the first intersection after you go down onto the flats. Right away, just before heading up the hill, turn right again on Silverdale Rd, and in a few hundred metres you come to a bridge, with a gate on your right. Park here and walk in. It's actually a bit past the marker on Len's map.
