Two of the many options we may choose from is the direction of a head shot. One option is a side profile, such as the one illustrated below of a Rough-legged Hawk I captured on Prairie Central road between Prest and Annis Rd. yesterday. It conveys strength, and perhaps is the reason so many coins and stamps use this option. The second image with the bird looking right at you instills viewer involvement and communication. "You looking at me?" The third image of a Great-horned Owl conveys this communication even stronger! Pretty hard not to become involved with this owl. The classic profile Bald Eagle head shot Finally a "You have my attention" frontal shot. There is so much character in the direct look. Your thoughts would be welcome and appreciated.
