Friday the 19th was a nice day and some good birds Im finally getting around to sharing. Of course, the Say's Phoebe from Cheam Lake. This chubby robin was really cooperative for photos. Out in Hope at Thacker Marsh was a male Red Crossbill singing away. He was joined by a female and they flew away together. I missed the female for a picture. Finally, two hybrid ducks at Salish Pond in Chilliwack were there. The Mallard x Northern Pintail and the Ring-necked Duck x Greater? Scaup. I think it is a hybrid with a Greater Scaup as I suspect were it a Lesser Scaup, the head colour would be purple and not greenish. Neat birds! This is the second year for the scaup hybrid and at least the fourth for the mallard hybrid.

Great pictures Gord. Those hybrids are cool especially the Mallard Pintail cross.
