Great find Gord and great job Watchmen of re-locating it. I might try tomorrow before school to see if I can spot it. I think no matter where I go, I will carry some binocs with me from now on.

A photo of the Prairie Falcon I found at the corner of McGuire and Banford. Always love the surprise finds when not really out looking! Id keep an eye out for this guy as it probably will hang around. The metal power line towers are always a favourite perch.

Good to hear the Prairie Falcon is still around. Hope this one sticks around better than the last two in recent memory did.
I saw a/the Gyrfalcon yesterday at the intersection of Chilliwack River Road and Bailey Road. I was waiting at the stop sign when I saw a heavy looking falcon flying towards me. I figured if that's not a Gyrfalcon...It flew over me and had good enough looks to see it was a Gyrfalcon but couldnt say if it was or was not an escaped bird (often this species, or hybrids with this species is kept by falconers) considering I was not in a situation to get a better look. Nice birds! Amazing the power they portray just by flying past.
