We went for a family walk this morning around the lagoon at Harrison. I brought the scope along and spent some time sweeping the lake, but nothing unusual to report. Goldeneyes, Scaup, Loons, Buffleheads (100's) had the highest numbers. One Horned Grebe stay above water long enough for a quick ID. Inside the lagoon were plenty of Canada Geese and an assortment of the more common puddle ducks. Along the rocky side of the path around the lagoon were some Song Sparrows and a Snow Bunting appeared for a photo-op! (New for the November list too!) Some Mew gulls and the odd Glaucous-winged were also near the bunting (about halfway around the lagoon walk) The mountain backdrop was impressive behind some Harrison buildings On the east side of the lagoon I stumbled on a large flock of Juncos, with a handful of Song Sparrows and a Robin. I kept my eyes peeled for bundy's mystery flock, but nothing to report. In the small cove by the boat launch was an American Dipper swimming around. I spent some time videoing this bird, a very entertaining species. We then headed back to the playground for some more turns on the slides...... A nice (dry) morning for a stroll! Good Birding, Dave
