I finally got to Harrison today. Out on the Lagoon were Geese, six Lesser Scaup's, American Wigeons and Mallards. A lot of Buffleheads were out on the lake I counted about 22. I saw the Long-tailed Duck near the marina so another lifer! Thanks again Kevin for the reports. There was also a lone Common Loon, three Horned Grebes( I have been trying for an Eared Grebe but so far no luck) and Common Goldeneyes. I didn't see the Red-breasted Merganser but did see three Common Mergansers fly over. On the east side of the Lagoon I heard some different birds chirping, but before I could see them, they flew away. They were definately of the Finch family but I am not sure what they were. Out of the calls that I played back they were close to Common Redpolls. I wish they would have stayed longer so I could have made a positive ID. My parents were with me and they wanted to take a quick drive up to Weaver Creek. They are tons of eagles around Eagle Point Park. There was nothing much at Weaver Creek except for I saw ten American Dippers. I have never seen that many Dippers in one loaction, and I wish I would have brought my camera, but I thought with the rain it would be best to leave it at home.

Super list of sightings, too bad you didn't take your camera!

Congrats on the Long-tailed Duck. I bet you those were Common Redpolls. Sitting quietly and then making their calls in flight is certainly promising. I can see a small flock sitting in those alders there.
