hello all i need help with id on 3 different birds please this first 2 pics were taken by my mother a few days ago and i have no idea what it is. it looks to be about the size of a Robin maybe a bit smaller. Bird #1 bird #2...i'm thinking young white crowned? Bird #2 and now, 2 more pics of a different bird almost looks like A Junco, but the head is funny on it. Bird #3 Thanks Jeff

Bird #1 was just here and i got some better photo's i was almost thinking juvi. red-winged blackbird...?

Your mystery bird is a young Brown headed Cowbird. I've been puzzled by these guys a number of times....think I've got something really exciting and then realize what it is.
Think your guess's re White Crowned Sparrow and Junco are correct....baby Junco's are spotted, this guy is probably just starting to make the change to adult coloration....they don't stay specked for long.

Jeff, nice shots of the junco! Almost right in between baby and adult colours. Neat!
Ill join the club on having young cowbirds catch the eye. I like how they waddle around (walking, not hopping like many small birds do)

it's a little upsetting that that is a cowbird.. i was hoping for a new yard bird thanks for your help everyone Jeff
