The family decided to drive to Spences Bridge and take the highway to Merritt today so I decided that I would tag along.
The first stop was Skihist Provincial Park just outside of Lytton. We walked for about twenty minutes just to stretch the legs. I saw Western Tanager, Mountain Chickadee, Chipping Sparrow and Yellow-rumped Warbler.
Along the highway to Merritt from Spences Bridge I managed to see a lot of Western and Eastern Kingbirds. In one area we stopped I saw a family of Lazuli Buntings near the river. I saw a Mourning Dove and the wire as well and in anoter stop I saw and heard a Grey Catbird. I was checking fence sposts to see if I could see a Mountain Bluebird but no luck.
In Merritt we stopped at Monck Park. There was about four Osprey nests that I managed spot but that's aboout it. I did get some pictures which I will share later. On the drive home I thought I spotted what I think was a Swainson's Hawk but I was not 100% sure. It was very dry and warm there. Water is a must if you go there.
It was a beautiful drive and cool terrain and scenery.
