I was at Cheam Wetlands today and I saw a bird I had never seen before. I found him around the loop. I first thought it was a flycatcher but it had a white eyebrow. The bird was rather drab but flew off before I could hear a call or get better identification features. I know this is little information but does anyone have any ideas? I don't think it would be a Tennesse Warbler because it was slightly larger and had a distinct white eyebrow.

I never thought about that but it wasn't acting like a Wren because he seemed to be flycatching. Also it wasn't brown more of a grey colour.

Hi Bundy, Flycatching movements, not wren-like... Your title suggests you're thinking vireo as well as warbler... what about a Warbling Vireo? Dull gray back, pale belly and sometimes their eyebrow really stands out. We see them every year at our place in Agassiz...

Wetlander that's what I am leaning towards as well. I have been looking at pictures of species that it could be and it's definately not a Tennessee Warbler because it was a gray colour. I am not familar with Vireo's, only what I have seen in books and pictures.
I looked at Red-Eyed Vireo and it's not that and as far as I know there are no Flycatchers that have a white eyebrow. The only thing that matches is a Warbling Vireo unless there is some other bird that I am not looking at. Isn't this a bit early for a Warbling Vireo though?

It is a little early for our place... Just checked my ebird records, and the earliest sighting I've got is May 9.

It's probably not too early for a Warbling Vireo. This morning I heard my first Warbling Vireo for this year in south Surrey, and this is well within the normal date ranges for arrival of this species for the Vancouver checklist area.

Am I getting off track to suggest Cassin's Vireo? I know Jason had one a few days ago on Ryder Lake.

Thanks for the input guys. I am going to with Warbling Vireo. Since I spotted this guy I am got quite familar with Vireo's now.
Gord I thought of Cassin's as well but they have an eye-ring and the bird I saw didn't have a complete one, like the Cassin's do.
