Re: Audio ID of Swainson's Thrush in Agassiz on April 16. Sorry I haven't responded sooner... Ironically I was listening to a bird CD to refresh my memory for 2 days before hearing the Swainson's. I've been waiting for a Hermit Thrush for this area, so was keen to check out the sound. To my ear it was a Swainson's, which we get every year. I didn't realize this was unseasonably early and have been trying to get a sound recording or photo... but of course I haven't heard it since.

It is early, but not crazy early so I wouldnt second guess yourself!
Today at Cheam Lake I saw a thrush fly in front of my car. There was no contrast between back and tail so I doubt it was a Hermit Thrush but cant be sure. I stopped and pished and whistled for it but no reply. It might have kept going after the close call with the car!
