Hi all: Happy Easter.
I'll post a few of the pictures I took on my recent trip through Southern Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas. I lost my camera battery charger along the way, ( for the second time, as Murray knows ), so I was pretty conservative in the picture taking department. Most of the shots are of big birds, or birds who don't move around too much, as my digital point and shoot, with the telextender lens won't tolerate much. Also, I don't know how anyone has the patience to download pictures to the net. It takes so long!!! Time for an upgrade on the computer front, I guess. No particular order. Test

That didn't work either: Will have to ponder. Got it now: Reddish Egret- Off Rockport, in fairly close to breeding plummage.

Hi Thor! Great Photos. Nicely framed White Ibis and beautiful Reddish Egret.
I usually resize my pictures to something smaller before uploading them to photobucket. It goes much quicker.
Golden-cheeked Warbler....is that a tough bird to see or a gimme in its little Texan range?
Thanks for taking the time (lots of it too!), Dave

P.S. Incredible variety in vegetation at Sedona! Never heard of the place...maybe next Spring . Great King Rail photo as well. Typical habitat. Dave

Dave: Thanks for the tip about the re-sizing. I always scale mine as well; just couldn't remember the usual number I use, so pictures came out a little big. I guess I was referring more to the extra step(s) Photobucket has introduced, and then the usual process of transferring them over to Fraser Valley Birding, but hey, why complain?? I'm retired and it's not like I have to get up at 6:00 a.m, at least to go to work, anyway!! The Golden Cheeked was surprisingly easy to see, and I saw it in a number of locations in the Texas Hill Country. It is aggressively territorial, and will easily respond to a pish, or a tape, if allowed. Its equally famous comrade in arms, the Black Capped Vireo, is another story. A real skulker, but at least this time of year it is singing, so can be tracked down that way. Also, although the two are often lumped together as must see birds in the Texas hill country, they prefer different habitiats, so a little work is involved in tracking them down. Having said that, they can be found in same parks like Kickapoo, Kerr Wildlife Management Area, Lost Maples, etc. Cheers Thor
