Hi trudi, I enjoy these ID challenges and can't help but give it a try. I am assuming that some of the pictures were no taken locally here : 1.Northern Mockingbird 2.Anna's Hummingbird 3.Verdin 4.female Blackbird 5.Robin (pale) 6.female Western Tanager 7.female Blackbird 8.Robin (pale and has had a rough life) 9.female Brewer's Blackbird. Okay, here are the first thoughts. Waiting for some debate on some of them.... Dave Beeke

I fully agree, Trudi, it is good idea to throw a few pictures online of the unsures and get some other opinions. Maybe some others will comment as well with different ideas so don't write it in pen yet . Regarding the possible Anna's, here are 2 picture of Anna's that I took 15 months ago in California. What is interesting is that it is the same bird, one in the shade, one in the sun. Lighting sure makes a difference... Interesting about picture 4 and 7. I just didn't know what else to call them .
