Just starting to transfer some of the photos from our trip over to this computer. This is the Lark Sparrow we saw at Juniper Beach Provincial Park on the Thompson River. I don't think they are normally found there....Sibleys shows them just in the very southermost part of the Okanagan, if in B.C. at all (although this is the same habitat so makes sense for them to be there). The male Lazuli Bunting seen at the same place (best picture I could manage) Always lots of Western Kingbirds at the same place. They were obviously just starting to pair off and boy, can they bicker with each other! Now we are in Jasper, and here is one of the young Gray Jays we found by Malign Lake. and here is the pair of Harlequin Ducks we saw on the same lake. You can see the ice...there was just a narrow strip of open water along the shore. Photos were taken right into the sun. Kathy

Kathy, nice photos! That Lark Sparrow turned out well. Ive never seen one up around there (but I never birded that area much though).
The Harlequin Ducks turned out nicely. The ice looks really nice at that angle.
Look forward to more!
