Hi all: To go along with the description of my recent Pt. Pelee trip, here are a few modest pictures of birds seen. Being the highly accomplished photographer that I am, I seemed to be having trouble with the quick focusing mechanism on the camera- kind of important when photographing warblers. Right at the end of the trip, I think I figured it out. Anyway, all of these pictures are of birds that agreed to sit relatively still. Red Headed Woodpecker; a close up version shows he is just about to devour a wasp on the top of the snag. Another image of this beautiful bird. Black Vulture on East Beach in the rain. It turned out this kind of forlorn looking bird was sick, and he was captured for rehabilitation. Rose breasted Grosbeak. Baltimore Oriole; along with the Yellow Warbler, probably one of the two signature birds for Pt. Pelee at this time of year. Black-billed Cuckoo; playing peek-a-boo from within the foliage, as they are prone to do. House Wren; not so common here; pretty common there Wild Turkey; increasing in occurrence throughout the park. Cheers, Thor Thor Manson Hope, B.C.
