Thursday found two R.B. Sapsuckers drilling a birch on the Dyke just down from our place. Went back today and one was still at work. Not sure if the hole to the left is an abandoned attempt or separate nest hole. Do they use more than one entrance? Just above is an older hole. This is obviously a popular birch. I don't see Sapsuckers around here much. Just he usual Flickers and Downeys. With a pair of Pileateds and the occasional Hairy coming by ever so often.
